Travel & Stay

Brought to you by the Broncos and Loveland Pass
On a snowy January 6, 2021, Brenton and Annemarie met for the first time. Each had just been to the Broncos game with their respective friend groups, and fate (or maybe just great mutual friends) led them to the same post-game gathering. Brenton was immediately drawn to Annemarie—unaware that she had just sworn off men. (Not that it would have stopped him.)
After a security guard refused to let Brenton into Whiskey Row due to him not having belt loops (Vuori joggers were not good enough for Luke Combs), Annemarie decided to go with Brenton to another bar. They spent the next several hours drinking margaritas, competing in ski ball, and paying zero attention to anyone except each other. By the end of the night, Brenton had secured a date for that Thursday. Annemarie’s response? “Sure.”
Within a week, they had their first date and found out they were both invited to a cabin weekend in Montezuma. What should have been a scenic two-hour drive became a white-knuckled, four-and-a-half-hour crawl through a relentless snowstorm. Annemarie, a Midwesterner not known for her grace under pressure, gripped the wheel as Brenton, embodying his signature California chill, did his best to keep her calm. Somehow, the chaotic drive only brought them closer together.
The next morning, Brenton won her over completely with the best breakfast sandwich of her life.
Less than two months later, they made it official.
Within nine months, they got their dog, Roux.
A year and a half later, they moved to San Diego.
And just shy of three years, they were engaged.
Now, with a lifetime ahead, they’re just getting started!
